The Ancient City of Alicante once again opens the season.

The ancient city of Alicante opened the 2007 MedCup season as it does the 2008 season. With its international airport, extensive tourism infrastructure along the waterfront, modern yacht marina and clear open sailing waters, Alicante is an ideal venue for TP52 racing in the Audi MedCup Circuit.

Alicante is fast becoming a major venue on the international yacht racing circuit. With its impressive marine infrastructure and dynamic city hall the Mediterranean port has got its eye firmly on the sea as a platform for sporting competition.

Later in 2008 the Volvo Ocean race will start from here. Many of the skippers and crew on the Audi MedCup Circuit will be participating in that competition. In the build-up to the start, many of the teams are already training in the same waters.

Sailing in the shadow of the impressive Castillo Santa Barbara Desde Montanita there are few other venues on the Audi MedCup Circuit this year with such a significant landmark that allows spectators to watch over the race course.
