Many of you may have noticed a slight change in Mean Machine’s ‘look’…
Famous for her black hull and pink flames, Mean Machine has had something of a makeover.
Mean Machine number 21, the Farr 40 launched just 2 weeks ago presented a new challenge for the Mean Machine designers. The team has most definitely evolved over the seasons, so it was time for the Mean Machine ‘image’ to catch up. The new look sees the boats sporting cleaner and more minimalist lines.
The Mean Machine logo has undergone some colour change, and is now in a clearer and lighter tone, in white with no shading. Although the boat’s hull is still a characteristically dark colour, the tone has been changed to charcoal grey, which really enhances the elegance of the lines.
And what about the signature pink flames, usually seen on de Ridder’s boats, you may ask…?
Well the famous pink flames are staying, although they’re having a change of location. The colourful Mean Machine signature feature will adorn the spinnakers of the new Farr 40.
Peter de Ridder is pleased with the results. “We’ve still got our identity, but it’s just been updated. We were looking for something with a cleaner impact, something that transmitted peace and balance. With the hull in a charcoal tone and the lettering in white I think we’ve achieved the minimalist look we were going for.”
