Caribyacht is an initiative of Jules Hermsen, a well known figure on the Regatta scene in the Caribbean, through which hundreds of yachtsmen and women have been introduced to Regatta Sailing in the region’s top sailing events.

Caribyacht was created by a group of Dutch Investors as part of the development program for the Island of St. Eustatius which has opted to leave the Dutch Antilles and together with the islands of Saba and Bonaire rejoin the Netherlands on the 15 December 2008. With Jules’s special knowledge and expertise in the Charter Market, the decision was soon made to start the operation from the established and well known Captain Oliver’s Marina on St. Martin, with a fleet of 10 J133’s Cruiser Racers. Additional boats will be added in the following years.

Based in St. Eustatius (locally known as Statia), Caribyacht will be the only Charter Company in Caribbean offering J-Boats to race on. This is a milestone for J-boats Europe who will be producing the boats from their factory in France. The J-133 was chosen as the ideal size boat for the Caribbean and for it’s easy handling. Another reason is the dedicated “J” racing community (some 11.000 J-boats are being sailed around the world) which will be the company’s main Market.

The Caribyacht J-Boat fleet will be supported by a technical team which will service the fleet at the eight main Regatta’s in the region. The boats are also available for charter at other regatta’s however we would require a minimum of 5 participating boats to offer our standard race package which would include our support team and it’s vessel.

Corporate Charters, Incentive Charters and other groups:
In addition to the 8 Regatta’s in our program, the fleet will also sail a number of weeks in a series of mini regatta’s organized by Caribyacht’s Regatta Team for our client’s in addition to flotilla weeks organized by our agents for their clients. We expect 8 such weeks to be up and running within the first two years.
