A new English-language website has been launched to promote the world’s newest and most ambitious sailing festival, the China Cup International Regatta.
Visitors abroad to www.chncup.com will automatically be directed to the new English version which will provide-s information about the 2008 event to be held in October, details of 2007’s inaugural event and a wide range of information about sailing in China and the host city Shenzhen.
It is designed to attract even more competitors, sponsors, media and spectators to the 2008 event which will be even bigger and better than 2007.
David Zhong, Deputy Executive Secretary-General of the China Cup organizing committee said the new site offered a welcoming face to the world’s sailors eager to race in the event, sponsors the chance to see the benefits of supporting the event, spectators to see what to expect and of course anyone who wants to find up-to-date news about our plans.
“We have designed the site to provide more easily accessible information on visiting China and Shenzhen, how to get involved in the regatta and background about sailing in China. This year’s event will be bigger and better than last year with more investment in boats and facilities and the website also needed to demonstrate this.”
The site also includes links to other Chinese sailing clubs and events including the Olympics in Qingdao to be held on August 9.
