2008 Lake George Corinthian Races Announced

In 2008 there will be a total of 6 races organized by the Corinthians.

As always the Lake George Corinthian Yacht Club (LGCYC) sailing events will begin with the Ticonderoga race.
This year will be the 35th annual race, and again will be run as a fund raising event for the Y-knot sailing program at Camp Chingachgook.

The Ti Race Schedule for 2008 is as follows;

Friday Night, June 13
Sign-Up and Bar-B-Q starts at 6:30pm, Skippers Meeting, at Yankee Boating Center http://www.yankeeboat.com/ in Bolton landing.

Saturday June 14th, Race Starts 9:00 am.

Sunday, June 15th, Awards/Bar-B-Q starts 3:00pm with food drinks and lots of stories, awards at 4:00pm
(Race will be clocked time on time)

The format and scoring for the Sunday racing events will be changed this Year.

Each race will be run as a single event, all events will be scored using PHRF, Time on Time, and have three prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
Race events will be held at two week intervals, any race cancellations due to poor weather conditions (No Wind) will try to be rescheduled at a later date.

Race Event schedule is as follows;

June 29 PHRF Open Start Time 1:00 pm (In front of Yankee)
July 13 Around the Islands Race Start Time 1:00 pm (Near Dome Island)
July 27 Women’s Skipper Race Start Time 1:00pm (In front of Yankee)
(Skipper must be a women!! Crew members can be either gender)
Aug 10 Singles Handed Start Time 1:00pm (In front of Yankee)
Aug 24 Sabbath Day Point Race Star Time 9:00am (Race will end at 4:00pm)
If no boats finish by 4:00pm places will be awarded by closest to the finish line “All Committee boat decisions final”
