The DSK-Comifin Sailing Team is pleased to announce a two year partnership with internationally renowned technical clothing company, Gaastra. The Dutch brand, well known for its successes in windsurfing, will be providing Danilo Salsi’s team with their PRO range of technical clothing for their highly competitive, international racing programmes onboard the team’s Swan 45, Farr 40 and Swan 90.
The DSK-Comifin Sailing Team will be sporting the innovative PRO range of breathable, fast drying technical clothing produced by Gaastra. Throughout the season, the team will also be providing valuable feedback to Gaastra’s designers as they shift gears from inshore racing to demanding offshore regattas, such as the Rolex Middle Sea Race and Maxi Yacht Transatlantic, later this year.
Commenting on the team’s Gaastra PRO clothing, owner and helmsman Danilo Salsi said: “It’s great to have the support of Gaastra. We’re looking forward to trying out the gear and working with Gaastra to develop more products specifically designed to meet the needs of sailors.”
Both DSK-Comifin and Gaastra have a passion for sailing and innovation, making the partnership a natural fit. Gaastra’s partnership with the DSK-Comifin Sailing Team is part of the company’s recent foray and investment in sailing. Gaastra also supports among others, the Dutch team Mean Machine, racing on the Transpac 52 and Farr 40 circuits and the Swan 80 Favonius.
Commenting on Gaastra’s partnership with DSK-Comifin, Marketing Manager Rikkert Graat added; “We’re proud partner with the DSK-Comifin Sailing Team, one of the top international teams on the Swan 45 and Farr 40 circuits, and look forward to working with them.”
DSK-Comifin Sailing Team’s recent second place finish as a part of Team Italy, together with Mascalzone Latino (Farr 40) and Audi Q8 (TP52), in the World Offshore Team Racing Championships, the Sardinia Rolex Cup, is testament to the team’s tenacity and revered expertise amongst the most competitive professional sailing teams worldwide.
DSK-Comifin is now preparing for the Copa del Rey at the end of July, the penultimate event before the Swan 45 World Championships in September. August marks the launch of DSK3 – the team’s ultra high performance Swan 90 which will debut at the Monaco Boat Show before heading to Les Voiles de St Tropez, also sponsored by Gaastra.
