About Us

Seaquest Ltd was formed in 1993 by Mike & Dawn Eaton, with the original factory based in Poole, Dorset, United Kingdom.

The original 32 foot yacht the SJ320 was built to close a gap in the market for a production racer cruiser yacht. Designer Stephen Jones was commissioned to design the yacht to Mike’s specification with the first SJ320 launched and built in 1994 and subsequently winning Cowes Week. he SJ320 went onto dominate this event for the next four years. All SJ320’s and the subsequent Seaquest 32’s have won a raft of trophies.

The Seaquest Prima 38 was the next boat to be put into production. Again teaming up with Designers Stephen Jones and Jonathan Sherwill the 1998 RYA British Nautical Awards saw Seaquest’s 38ft Prima One Design scoop the coveted “Yacht of the Year Award”. The judging panel described her as “an unabashed racer cruiser intended for serious racing and comfortable cruising”. There are currently more than 25 Prima’s on the water with all enjoying the support of an established One-Design Class Association. www.prima38.org The Seaquest Prima 38 was the winner of the Fastnet 2005, IRC Class 1.

In 2000 Seaquest were approached by internationally renowned designers Reichel-Pugh to build a 36 ft racer cruiser. The Seaquest 36’s that have been built have all generated a high degree media coverage and interest from enthusiasts around the world. In November 2004 the Seaquest 36 won “Race Boat of the Year USA 2005” by Yachting World magazine. In late 2005 the operations were moved to Dubai, one of the fastest growing cities in the world!

This followed the formation of a joint venture with MKM Commercial Holdings LLC, headed by Sheikh Mana Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, a member of the Dubai Royal family. Sheikh Mana has a long history with action on the water, being the man responsible for the highly successful offshore powerboat racing “Victory Team”. His enthusiasm and patronage has added a new focus to Seaquest.
