Alderney Sailing Club was formed in 1964 by a small band of enthusiasts to promote sailing in all its forms on the island. Over the years the club has grown to around 700 members, many of whom are overseas, joining to support the club.
The Alderney Sailing Club caters for a wide range of sailing interests ranging from dingy sailing up to blue water cruisers. The club is a focal point for visiting yachtsmen and their crews and has an active junior section.
With a fleet of Lasers, Mirrors and Laser Picos, mostly owned by the club, junior members are especially welcome and RYA instructors run courses during the summer.
The Club house, with a prominent position at the Harbour, is a welcoming place and any visiting yachtsperson can be guaranteed a warm reception. It is a meeting place for many overseas visitors and the bar is open every evening in the summer.
Alderney is the gateway to the rest of the Channel Islands and the Brittany coast for British sailors and others coming down the Channel, any are welcome to visit us and find a gem of an island.
