For the Sanremo Yacht Club, 2006 was a year rich in events and competitions, during which the “Compagnia della Vela” was very busy on all its fronts.
Nowadays, thanks to the available means and qualified staff, the Sanremo Yacht Club Sanremo can cope with regattas of every level, ensuring a perfect organization both at sea and ashore.
A large effort was expended also in the Sailing School, trying to make it become a modern sport pole, able to give the best preparation to the youth that wants to start practising this sport.
The structure is constantly submitted to improvements so that the Club House, which enjoys an excellent position in the Porto Vecchio of Sanremo, can be even nicer and cosier for members and racers.
2007 is going to be a particularly important year for us, with the sixtieth anniversary of our Club.
In order to celebrate it, in addition to our traditional regattas, such as Spring Criterium, Winter West Liguria Championship and International Mediterranean Meeting, the fixture list includes a series of events reserved to the classic boats:
• World Snipe Junior Championship;
• World 5.5 S.I. Championship;
• Italian Dragon Championship;
• Italian 12’ Dinghy Championship.
The realization of all what above is possible only thanks to the cooperation and willingness of Municipality of Sanremo, Province of Imperia, Region Liguria and of all the companies that supported and will support us in our projects, as well as of the Harbour Office for the effective help that has always offered us.
The targets for year 2007 are important and challenging but they represent also a moment of joy for a club that has met the target of his sixty years of activity, an anniversary that must be solemnized appropriately.
