Shaped By Experience

*

Having used RIBs for over 20 years we come from the practical side of fast craft training
*

We have spent years researching the high incidence of injuries to fast-craft helms and crews
*

From our own experiences we have specialist knowledge of injury prevention and recovery

Shock Mitigation Aims

*

To discuss whether injuries from sea impacts and vibration can be accepted at the current level and to identify the factors that amplify the problem
*

To provide the knowledge and training that fast craft operators need to reduce injury, improve comfort and reduce the risk of damaging litigation
*

To develop a source of information for RIB and fast craft operators that gives access to manufacturers and distributors of professional equipment

Every military, rescue and professional organisation has different ways to launch and recover their RIBs and fast craft. When they arrive at their destination every task will require a different set of trained skills specific to that organisation.

Shock Mitigation has no bearing on these specialist launch and operating procedures. The intention is to identify the process on the open sea between launch and task that is common to all these operators.

The shared objective is driving RIBs and fast craft to their destination as efficiently as possible. We believe that Shock Mitigation can reduce injury and improve performance by specialist crew training and improvements to workstation design.
