Thank you for your interest in the Minuteman Yacht Club. Our club fulfills a number of missions:
• First, we are a social-boating organization for Westport boaters providing year-round, on-and-off-water events designed to increase boating and boater enjoyment. Look over our Calendar of Events to see what we do.
• Second, we serve as the voice of Westport boaters to Westport town government. We are chartered by the Town of Westport. Members of the MYC Board of Governors attend Parks and Recreation Commission and Boating Advisory Committee meetings to make sure the position of boaters is represented. We have marina representatives acting as liaisons for boaters in each of the town marinas and in the state controlled mooring area. They stand ready to listen to and collect concerns and suggestions and forward them to the appropriate administration officials.
Full MYC membership is open to all Westport residents who are boaters. Our membership is almost equally divided between sail and power. A nominal annual membership fee is used to offset the cost of our activities. To join, just fill out the membership application
attached, or available from the marina attendants, and send in with your check for $50. Those who don’t meet the residency or boat ownership requirement may enroll as associate members. Note that this form is for new members.
Members receive a club burgee (honored by many other clubs), a membership directory and a subscription to the “Musket”, our regular newsletter providing information of interest to local boaters. Members are invited to all our activities, including our summer receptions at the Ned Dimes Marina which are covered by your dues.
