The Rockport Yacht Club was founded in 1969 as the “Rockport Sailing Club”. In 1993 as the club’s scope of activities broaden and a decision was made to change our name to the Rockport Yacht Club. We are a Texas chartered non-profit corporation. Our By-Laws define our organization and its structure.
The current Clubhouse was purchased in 1984 and has gone through numerous changes. The last project was completed in mid 2003, and included expansion and remodeling that providing us with the wonderful facility we have today.
We are members of U.S. Sailing Association, Texas Sailing Association and Yachting Clubs of America. Many yacht clubs will recognize our membership and will provide reciprocal privileges, but most require cash payments because our club does not guarantee payment of member tabs.
