Howtown Outdoor Centre – The Howtown Outdoor Centre is located on the shores of Ullswater and was opened in 1964. The centre is a great place to take the children to have a lot of fun while learning something new at the same time.
Activities on offer at the centre include rock climbing, canoeing, tunnel, scrambling, kayaking, archery, mountain walking, dinghy sailing, ropes course, orienteering and team tasks. The course activities are geared at personal and social education, helping the children improve self-confidence, self-control and self-discipline.
