The First LTYC-CSC Challenge is History!
CSC takes the Challenge in all 3 races.
The Challenge: To promote sailing and interclub camaraderie in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, Lake Townsend Yacht Club challenged the Carolina Sailing Club to a one day competition.
Under a cloudy sky, 20 boats started (9 for LTYC, 11 for CSC) in winds of 8-13 kts on Sunday, April 6 at LTYC. One start for all made for a busy line, and they were off for 3 WL-3’s . We had… a skipper breaking his hiking strap and falling out of the boat… A boat that did 4 laps before finishing, they were so fast…and they still beat some other boats. A Tanzer 16 racing for LTYC taking the on the whole fleet on corrected time in two races (finishing 1st and 2nd).
Great friendly racing with a great bunch of friends!

There’s a rumor that this will happen again next year, with the venue to be determined by whether or not you need a red cup…
