Burry Port Yacht Club

The club was formed in 1963 and in 1970 it merged with the Burry Estuary Boating and Angling Club, retaining the title of Burry Port Yacht Club. The club logo is the Welsh hat and crossed hatchets. The hatchets were the weapons used by the notorious "Gwyr y Bwelli Bach" (Men of the Little Hatchets) who looted ships wrecked on the nearby Cefn Sidan sands in the 18th and 19th centuries in particular.
