Brandy Hole Yacht Club

Brandy Hole is situated on the River Crouch. Many years ago Brandy Hole had a well earned reputation for smuggling, hence the name. Some historians report that at one time tea, when heavily taxed by the crown, found its way to Brandy Hole and many locals of the day became rich. The Brandy Hole Club has been in existence since the early 1930's, before the sea wall was built up.
