Eyott Sailing Club

The club was formed in 1950 by a few enthusiasts who wanted to pursue their hobby in rural essex and race against each other. A site was chosen to be near one member's "rustic" weekend chalet on the banks of Fenn Creek. The first club house was a cabin built onto an ex-wartime pontoon. This soon was replaced by a land based wooden structure when the local landowner, Sir Jack Nicholson, provided some land at a peppercorn rent. Since then this club house has been extended and is still in use today.... more
