Since the Olympic sailing event can not be compared to any other event and the former Olympic classes are excluded from the games, the Vintage Yachting Games are designed to be special too. While in most former Olympic classes the World and Continental Championships perfectly cater for large fleets and the growth of the fleets in the countries, the Vintage Yachting Games aims for the small group of top sailors per country and enables classes to expand to more countries and continents.
